On April 28 and 29, 2015, CHU hosted a study abroad information session for enrolled students, informing them about opportunities to study overseas at China's Hwangsan University. The information session was led by a representative of Hwangsan University who was specially invited for the occasion. The representative introduced Hwangsan University to attendees, and explained to them the benefits available in the form of scholarships for those beginning their language studies or transfer program abroad in September, 2015. Students from the Department of Hotel Culinary Arts expressed great enthusiasm for the program. CHU and Hwangsan University signed an MOU relating to educational cooperation in June, 2012. On the 28th, Kim Sung-hun, president of CHU, attended the session, and emphasized the benefits to be had through participation in the program. Hwangsan University was founded in 1978, after being renamed from an existing institution founded in 1956. It merged with another university in 2002 and became Hwangsan University. It has been accepting international students since 2006, In 2013 it was chosen as a special university by the Ministry of Education. There are a total of 903 teaching staff and about 18,000 enrolled students.
